A bet made on the flop by the player first to act after they call a preflop raise. This bet is typically small in relation to the pot. This play is often made in attempt to take over the betting lead, to see the turn card cheaply where a check would have induced a larger bet by an opponent, or to induce a raise when holding a monster or on a draw.
