Michael's incredible WSOP Main Event run has come to an end in 4th place, earning $2,750,000. He was eliminated when his K♠Q♠ ran into Lucas Jumalon's K♦J♥ in a heads-up pot. Jumalon hit his 3-outer to take the lead when the J♦ fell on the turn, and a blank on the river ended Gags' epic run.

Gags' reaction afterward said it all:

"It's unbelievable. I couldn't have asked for more. The support from my friends, my family, people online, people playing, the rest of the fans. It was just unbelievable. I don't think I would have changed any decision at this final table. I was happy with how I played."

Michael Gagliano, known as Gags throughout the poker community, has showcased his unique strategic ability by teaching our Fearless River members how to think through hands since joining in 2021. This summer, he showed the world how he navigates some of the most pressure-packed spots on poker's biggest stage.

Michael was one of the final 9 players to make the 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event, poker's biggest and most prestigious tournament, capping off an unforgettable summer.

Out of a field of 9,208 entrants, the 4th largest Main Event ever held, Gags outlasted all but three players. We couldn't be prouder, and we wanted to celebrate it with everyone who's learned from him.

The Road to the Final Table

Michael is already a 4x WSOP bracelet winner, and he's no stranger to the Main Event either. He's cashed it twice before: in 2016 he finished 842nd out of 6,737 entrants, and in 2025 he made an even deeper run, finishing 148th out of 9,735. This year, he made it all the way to the final table. Gags stayed patient and mixed in expertly timed aggression through eight grueling, 12-hour days, and it paid off. Here's what that run looked like:

Along the way, he ended Hossein Ensan's historic bid for a second Main Event title, sending the 2019 champion to the rail in 13th place. Talking to PokerNews after bagging up for the final table, Michael put the grind in perspective:

"I've been saying for many days that it feels like Groundhog Day. Like, the more people that bust, it just feels like the number just doesn't go down... I feel like it's finally done."

This is the kind of sentiment that's earned Gags a reputation as one of the game's most genuine advocates: fully focused on winning, but just as invested in the players around him and the growth of the game.

The Final Table Lineup

Entering the Final Table (Aug 3): Although Lucas Jumalon's lead is dramatic, with 35% of chips in play and more than double 2nd place, Gags' unmatched experience performing on the big stage is certain to keep him in contention for the title until the final hand is dealt.

Gags played one of the most impressive pots of the night against the massive chip leader Lucas Jumalon. After defending his big blind and correctly calling bets for large chunks of his stack on both the flop and turn, Gags was rewarded by winning a huge pot with only ace-high when Jumalon chose not to fire a third barrel on the river.

After Day 1: 7 Remain (Aug 4)

Gags entered Day 2 in 5th chip position with 42,000,000 (17 BBs). Play continues Wednesday, August 5th, as Lucas Jumalon and Lauri Saaskilahti battle heads-up for the title.

The Final Hand:

Gags' run ended in Hand #150 of the final table. He shoved for 9,500,000 from the Button with K♠Q♠, and after Greg Mueller folded pocket 4s, chip leader Lucas Jumalon called all-in with K♦J♥. The flop (K♥8♥5♣) had Gags in front, but the J♦ turn gave Jumalon two pair, and the 7♠ river sealed it. Gags was eliminated in 4th place for $2,750,000, the best finish of his 17 Main Event appearances.

Speaking afterward, he reflected on the run:

"It's taken me a while to get there in poker. When I'm at the table, I'm just trying to make the best decision in that moment, in that spot, with the hands I've been dealt and the action that's happening. When I focus on that, I have my best results."

In the 2023 WSOP Ladies Championship, Tammy took home her first WSOP Bracelet and banked an impressive $192,167 for the win. Surrounded by supporters and fellow members of the Women's Poker Association (WPA), Tammy secured her place in the record books as the victor of the largest Ladies Event field in poker history.

➧ Fearless River Student T.J. Murphy

T.J. took home his first WSOP Bracelet, outlasted a huge field of 4,732 runners in the 2024 $800 Deepstack Championship, and banked an impressive $368,977 for the win. He continued his run with a 2nd place finish at the MSPT Grand Falls Main Event for $76K. He'll be back in Vegas to defend his title!

Sean won his first WSOP Gold Bracelet in the 2024 Super Seniors Championship, defeating a field of 3,362 runners and taking home $368,025. This was Sean's third cash in the 2024 series, which was also his largest-ever WSOP win and the 2nd biggest of his poker career!

Sue won her first WSOP Bracelet in the 2019 Salute to Warriors Championship, defeating the field of 1,723 runners, earning $121,161 in the process, and was the only woman to win an open NL event during the series. In 2024, Sue won 2 WSOP Circuit Cherokee Events (in 1 week!) to add 2 Circuit Rings to her collection.

The final week of the 2024 WSOP and Summer Tournament Season concluded with more fun and cashes from Team Fearless River

During the exciting 7 week stretch we got to sweat 13 final tables, see two Fearless River Students each take down their 1st Gold Bracelet, and two Instructors add hardware to their already accomplished trophy chest. We also took home nearly $2.1 Million dollars in well deserved earnings.

Fearless River Instructor Tony Dunst took to the online felt last weekend to win his third career WSOP Bracelet.

Tony captured WSOP Bracelet #3 and the $134,888 1st place prize after outlasting the 2,435 entry field in the $500 No-Limit World Series of Poker Deepstack Online Event #15. After a hard fought 13 hour battle of online play through a massive field stacked with Pros and online grinders the remaining 8 players reached the final table.

Just as the sun was rising over the Las Vegas Valley, the last hand of heads up play with his opponent “vevere” was dealt, and the marathon session ended with Tony securing WSOP Bracelet #3.

The 4th week of the WSOP in Vegas drew to an exciting conclusion with Fearless River Student Sean Jazayeri winning his 1st Gold Bracelet, battling a field of 3,362 opponents, and taking home $368,025.

Sean started Day 4 of the $1,000 buy-in WSOP Super Seniors event third in chips, showed patience and played fearlessly in the endgame to emerge as the victor in an exciting heads up duel. This is Sean's third 2024 WSOP cash which is also his largest-ever WSOP cash and the 2nd biggest of his poker career.

T.J. roared into the Final Table as the chip leader and showed zero fear while using his huge stack to eliminate 6 of the 8 remaining players on his way to victory. Entering heads up play with a big chip advantage, it only took a few hands for T.J. to finish it out.

T.J. puts in the work everyday on FearlessRiver.com and we are so happy to see it paying off! WSOP Week 6 Achievements

Week 6 of the WSOP began with the record-shattering Main Event!

The record for the largest WSOP Main Event field in its 54-year history was broken with a total of 10,043 entries. The event generated a total prize pool of $93,399,900, smashing the previous record of $82,512,162 set in 2006 that had a total of 8,773 entrants.

Fearless River Instructor Tony Dunst battled and played like the Champion he is but fell just short in his quest to secure his 3rd WSOP Bracelet after getting knocked out when his straight was beat by a straight flush sending Tony out in 66th place on Day 6.

As always Tony went out with class and style. We are extremely proud to have Tony as part of Team Fearless River and can't wait to cheer on his next remarkable performance on the felt.

Long-time Fearless River Student Tamar "Tammy" Abraham took home her first WSOP Bracelet in the record-breaking Ladies Championship and banked an impressive $192,167 for the win.

Surrounded by supporters and fellow members of the Women's Poker Association (WPA) to help cheer her on, Tammy secured her place in the record books as the victor of the largest Ladies Event field in poker history.

➧ Student and WSOP Bracelet Winner Sue Faber

In the 2019 WSOP Sue emerged as the victor in the $500 buy-in Salute to Warriors No-Limit Hold’em event defeating the field of 1,723 entries earning $121,161 in the process and was only woman to win an open No-Limit Hold'em event during the 2019 series.

➧ Fearless River Student Brett Coltman

In the 2022 WSOP, Fearless River Member Brett took 2nd in the $500 buy-in Salute to Warriors No-Limit Hold’em event ! After 3 grueling days and 3,200 entrants, Brett was able to turn his $500 buy-in into a huge score of $99,676.

➧ Fearless River Student Randy Chamberlain

In the 2022/23 WSOPC Event in Thunder Valley, Fearless River Member Randy took 2nd in the $1,700 buy-in main event outlasting 726 opponents to take home a cool $126,828 for his efforts.

➧ Fearless River Students Lisa and Scott Roberts

The couple that plays together, stays together, at least that’s the case for long-time Fearless River Students Scott and Lisa Roberts. This poker power couple have been married 40 years and are affectionately known as Team Roberts.

With Scott's 3 Rings and Lisa's 2 Rings, Team Roberts have amassed a total of 5 WSOP Circuit rings, over $400K in combined tournament winnings, and are traveling the world playing the game they love!

Fearless River Instructor Michael "Gags30" Gagliano took to the online felt this weekend to win in second career WSOP Bracelet!

Gags captured his 2nd gold bracelet and the $62,755 1st place prize after outlasting the 344-entry field in the $1,000 No-Limit World Series of Poker Turbo Deepstack Online Event #18.

In just under 6 hours of online play Gags started heads up play with an almost 2:1 chip lead and quickly got it all-in with QJs. The flop showed a Q and the rest is history.

Fearless River Instructor Andrew "LuckyChewy" Lichtenberger battled some of the most dominating players in the game today to win his 1st PokerGO Major title!

Chewy took home the title, trophy, and the $465,750 1st place prize in the $25K buy-in No-Limit Hold'em Poker Masters Event #7.

Coming into the final table second in chips, Chewy maintained his aggression, composure, and focus to emerge as the victor.

This is Chewy's first PokerGO title and second high roller victory in 2022 pushing his career earnings over $13 Million.

With a few more events on the schedule, Chewy is also in the hunt for the Poker Masters purple jacket.

Fearless River Instructor Brian "Alty" Altman battled some of the best poker players in the game to win his maiden World Series of Poker Bracelet this past weekend (and on his first day in Vegas!).

Brian took home the gold bracelet and $110K after outlasting 1,641 players in the $400 No-Limit Hold'em Ultra Deepstack Online Event #3. He came into the final table with an impressive 35 percent of the chips in play and was able to maintain his aggression and focus and eventually come out the victor.
